About CatawbaGO in Salisbury
CatawbaGO operates as a fully on-demand shuttle program. Riders request point-to-point trips connecting residential halls, academic buildings, the student center, athletic facilities, downtown Salisbury, and surrounding Salisbury neighborhoods. CatawbaGO is on-demand: riders request a ride in the app or schedule one ahead. The program runs during the academic year, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Every ride is tracked through the Slidr rider app, which provides real-time vehicle location, estimated arrival times, and rider ratings. Slidr provides monthly ridership reports to the Catawba administration showing completion rates, average wait times, peak demand periods, and rider satisfaction scores. CatawbaGO demonstrates how a small college with under 1,500 students can operate a professional-grade shuttle program without managing vehicles, drivers, or technology in-house.
